Abstrakt: Článek se zabývá demografickou charakteristikou světových makroregionů. První část článku je věnována rozložení obyvatelstva ve světě podle vyspělosti regionů. Další regionální rozdíly jsou vysvětleny na pozadí demografické revoluce a jejích důsledků. Samostatný prostor je věnován úmrtnosti a porodnosti a jejich regionální diferenciaci.

Abstract (EN): Macro-Regions of the World from a Demographic Perspective. This article explores the demographic characteristics of world macro-regions. The first part of the article discusses the distribution of the world’s population according to the development of the regions. Other regional differences are explained against the backdrop of demographic revolution and its consequences. A large portion of the article examines mortality and fertility rates and their regional differentiation.
