Abstrakt: Peruánské hlavní město Lima je typickým nositelem dlouhodobých strukturálních problémů, jež postihují metropole v rámci celé Latinské Ameriky. Některé z nich se zde projevují silněji než kdekoli jinde – už jen proto, že jde o jedno z největších sídel celého kontinentu, které se blíží hranici deseti milionů obyvatel. V rámci Peru to znamená celou třetinu obyvatelstva a nepoměr se bude dozajista nadále zvětšovat. Lima tak do značné míry zrcadlí krizové jevy celé země.

Abstract (EN): Lima: A city that has grown too fast. Lima, the capital of Peru, is suffering from persistent structural problems that affect metropoles and other large cities in the region of Latin America. Some of these problems show up here more profoundly than elsewhere, just because Lima is one of the biggest agglomerations in the whole region. The number of its inhabitants is about to reach 10 million which represents one third of the country’s population, and this disproportion will increase. The city thus – to a large extent – reflects critical phenomena of the whole country.
