Abstrakt: Tento článek popisuje základní aspekty severokorejské migrace, motivace Severokorejců pro riskantní opuštění země a výzvy, kterým musí migranti před i po dosažení Jižní Koreje čelit. Unikátnost této migrace pak potvrzují nejen socioekonomické a demografické atributy samotných migrantů, ale rovněž specifika a těžkosti jejich následné adaptace do jihokorejské společnosti.

Abstract (EN): Aspects of North Korean migration and assimilation in South Korea. This article focuses on basic aspects of North Korean migration, motivations of North Koreans leading to a risky defection and on challenges migrants must face before and after they reach South Korea. The uniqueness of this migration is confirmed not only by the socioeconomic and demographic attributes of North Korean migrants, but also by consequent specifics and hardships of latter adaptation into South Korean society.
