Abstrakt: Článek popisuje, jak může být pohlíženo na problematiku energií z perspektivy urbánní geografie. Jedná se zaprvé o způsob, jakým se městskost a lokální geografie promítá do konkrétní podoby energetických výzev. Zadruhé článek představuje, jakým způsobem se energetické otázky promítaly do konceptů nových měst, a to od futuristických či utopistických vizí první poloviny minulého století, až po aktuálně diskutovaný koncept rezilientních měst.

Abstract (EN): Cities and energy: from fascination with progress to a resilient future. The article describes the ways in which energy issues can be studied from the point of view of urban geography. Firstly, the urbanity and local geography of a particular city are introduced as phenomena that impact the form of local energy issues. Secondly, the article introduces the concepts of new cities regarding to the role of energy issues. The brief overview presents futuristic, or rather utopic, urban visions from the first half of 20th century and current concept of resilient cities.
