Abstrakt: Text prezentuje dosah lidského poznání zemské kůry pomocí vrtů a důlních děl. Nabízí porovnání dosažených hloubek ve světě i v Česku a uvádí limity přímého kontaktu člověka s hlubokým podzemím. Na příkladu vrtu KTB ukazuje možnosti využití pro vzdělávání v oblasti geověd.

Abstract (EN): Journey into the depths of the Earth's crust. The text presents human exploration of the Earth's crust through boreholes and mines. It offers a comparison of the depths reached in the world and in Czechia and presents the limits of direct human contact with the deep underground. The paper shows the possibilities of the use for geoscience education on the example of the borehole KTB.
