Abstrakt: Rusko a Turecko sehrávají zásadní roli v řešení syrského konfliktu a celý svět sleduje vývoj jejich spolupráce v regionu. Nakolik je však možné očekávat shodu v klíčových otázkách konfliktu a může mít jejich společný postup dlouhého trvání? Jaké jsou hlavní problémy, které mohou do budoucna působit neshody? Tento příspěvek poukáže na faktory, které bychom neměli opomíjet při uvažování nad novým mocensko-politickým uspořádáním Blízkého východu.

Abstract (EN): The Middle East in the Context of Developing Russian-Turkish Relations. Russia and Turkey play a crucial role in resolving the Syrian conflict and the entire world is watching developments in their cooperation in the region. However, to what extent can one expect consensus on key issues of the conflict and can the two countries carry out a common approach in the long-term? This article briefly describes the history of Russian and Turkish relations in the region and attempts to identify central issues that may cause disagreements in the future. It also highlights factors that should not be overlooked when considering any new political/power structure in the Middle East.
