Abstract (EN): The Roots of Unequal Development: The Role of Geographical Macro-Position and Related Factors. The article discusses long-term determinants of the unequal socioeconomic development of different parts of the world. It presents an overview of the effects of geographical macro- position and other environmental factors which is then confronted with other proposed explanations.
