Abstrakt: Článek se zabývá iráckou náboženskou menšinou jezídů. Zaměřuje se na její synkretickou víru, kastovní a tribální způsob společenské organizace a na historii pronásledování a represí ze strany státu i majoritní společnosti. V tomto ohledu se článek soustředí zejména na zhoršující se situaci jezídů po roce 2003, která je dána bezprecedentním nástupem extremistických verzí islámu a zhroucením státních struktur. Výsledkem byla genocida spáchaná Islámským státem v létě 2014.

Abstract (EN): Iraqi Yezidis: A Religious Minority in Mortal Danger. This article presents a religious minority in northern Iraq, the Yezidis. It focuses on three central issues: syncretic religious ideas and practices, a developed caste system, and a history of persecution and repression from the state and the majority population. The article explores the issue of oppression in greater depth, especially after 2003, due to the rise of Islamic radicalism and the collapse of the Iraqi state.
