Abstrakt: Proces suburbanizace s sebou přináší změny ve fyzickém i sociálním prostředí obcí. Často jsou v této souvislosti zmiňovány zejména dopady suburbánního vývoje spojené s proměnou urbanistické struktury a architektonického rázu sídel, s dopravními problémy, nebo s riziky pro přírodní prostředí a krajinu. Významnými jsou však i důsledky tohoto procesu, které jsou spojeny s proměnou sociální a demografické struktury obyvatelstva zázemí měst. Nově příchozí se od dosavadních obyvatel totiž odlišují svým věkem, rodinnou situací, dosaženým vzděláním či ekonomickým postavením.
Abstract (EN): Consequences of the Suburbanization Process on the Social and Demographic Structure of Suburbia’s Residents. Suburbanization is one of the most important processes influencing the development of cities and their hinterlands in the Czech Republic. The process causes changes in both the physical and social environments of suburban municipalities. In this article, we focus on the process’ impacts on the social and demographic structure of populations in the hinterland of large cities. Using the example of the Central Bohemia Region, we demonstrate different development trajectories of populations in the suburban zone of Prague (affected by strong immigration) and in other parts of region.
