Abstrakt: Přírodní zvláštnosti odjakživa ovlivňovaly výrobu a jejím prostřednictvím sociální i politické vztahy, duchovní život společnosti, etnické tradice atd. O to víc to platí v Rusku, jehož rozloha je tak velká a podmínky tak pestré jako nikde jinde na světě. Obrovská rozloha poměrně spolehlivě chránila Rusko před nepřáteli a v nedávné době skýtala mladým i „romantické“ možnosti při osídlování a využívání sibiřských celin Ruska, navíc obrovské prostory a přírodní bohatství umožňovaly dlouhodobě rozvíjet extenzivní hospodaření.
Abstract (EN): Peculiarities in the natural conditions and distribution of Russian economic activities. The impact of unique natural conditions on the life of Russia’s inhabitants and the distribution of its economic activities is contradictory in nature. Immense distances and the country’s northern position create significant transport difficulties, increase expenses for energy, complicate people’s everyday lives and lead to high production costs. Untouched natural ecosystems represent the immeasurably valuable ecological potential of our planet. Some characteristics of the territorial structure of the country’s economy include its latitudinal zonality, European‑Asian asymmetry, the distance of centres to the sea and to the borders and the contrast in the developmental stage of centres and peripheral areas.
