Abstrakt: O rovníkové Africe se říká, že tam lze koupit každého a všechno. Že by ale bylo možné prodat kus národního parku nebo nilské vodopády bez ohledu na nenahraditelné přírodní hodnoty a navíc v zemi, která má zhruba třetinový turistický ruch v porovnání se sousední Keňou a potřebuje příliv zahraničních turistů, se mi věřit nechtělo. Ale jen do té doby, než jsem se dostal do bezprostřední blízkosti událostí, které takové „obchody“ na nejvyšší úrovni předcházely.
Abstract (EN): Uganda for sale. It has been said by many that in equatorial Africa, one could buy anything and anybody. When I heard these opinions, I had hard time imagining that someone could actually arbitrarily sell off a portion of a national park, including some precious and irreplaceable nature sites such as Nile river waterfalls. I found hard to believe such transactions would be taken lightly, especially in a country that desperately needs an increase in tourism (the volume is only one third of what the neighboring Kenya is able to obtain). My believes were changed after I got an opportunity to witness events preceding this type of sell offs by local government members.
